Scope and principles
This notice explains how personal data is processed when you visit Währung under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). We process only data needed for operation, security, optional audience measurement and—once enabled—advertising.
Website access and server logs
The hosting server may log the IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser, operating system and status code. This supports delivery, error analysis and abuse prevention. Routine logs are generally deleted after 30 days; security incidents may be documented for longer.
Necessary functions
Necessary cookies remember your privacy choice, the selected comparison currency and—only in the protected admin area—the login. They cannot be disabled through the statistics switch because they provide a requested function or security.
Cookie and storage overview
Durations are maximum periods. Browser or provider rules may shorten them. Optional Google cookies are created only after the relevant consent.
Google Analytics 4
GA4 loads only after “Allow statistics”. Until then all Consent Mode signals remain denied and no analytics cookies are created. After consent, _ga and _ga_<measurement-id> may be created. Ads personalisation and Google Signals remain disabled for this measurement. You can withdraw the choice in the footer.
Google AdSense and consent management
When advertising is enabled in the panel, Währung uses a Google-certified CMP based on the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework for Switzerland, the EEA and the United Kingdom. Ads load only in accordance with the choice made there. The type and duration of Google cookies may vary by consent, region and product.
External data and media services
Depending on the page, exchange rates, historical, crypto, gold and market data are obtained from ExchangeRate-API, Frankfurter, CoinGecko and Gold API. Server-side calls disclose the server IP to those providers. After optional location permission, coordinates are sent directly to Open-Meteo and BigDataCloud for weather data; otherwise a default location is used. External images may disclose the IP address to the image host when loaded.
Social networks
Footer icons are ordinary links, not embedded social-media plugins. Data is processed only after you open the external link.
Recipients and disclosure abroad
Recipients may include hosting and technical providers and the services named above. Google and some data or image providers may process data outside Switzerland, particularly in the United States. Statutory requirements for international disclosure and the provider’s safeguards and privacy notices apply.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the stated purpose, security or legal duties. Cookie periods appear in the table. Anonymous or aggregated data may remain longer.
Your rights
Under applicable law you may request access, correction, deletion, disclosure or portability of your data, as well as restriction of or objection to processing. Consent can be withdrawn for the future. Contact the controller to exercise your rights. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including HTTPS in production, restricted admin roles, secure session cookies and protected configuration files. No method can provide absolute security.
